Afghanistan Completes Series Sweep

Afghanistan achieved a remarkable 3-0 clean sweep against Zimbabwe in their three-match T20I series, concluding with a decisive seven-wicket win in the final match held in Sharjah on Sunday. The standout player was spinner Noor Ahmad, who effectively dismantled Zimbabwe's batting lineup, leading to their dismissal for a mere 79 runs in less than 15 overs.

Final T20I Match Breakdown

Choosing to bowl first, Afghanistan made an immediate impact. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah Omarzai took wickets in consecutive overs, sending Zimbabwe's openers Innocent Kaia and Brian Bennett back to the pavilion. Abdullah Tarakhail then dismissed Zimbabwe's captain, Sikandar Raza, leaving the visitors struggling at 13/3 by the fourth over. Ryan Burl tried to stabilize the innings with a resilient 30 runs but was eventually trapped LBW by Abdollah Ahmadzai. Noor Ahmad then took control, swiftly taking down the Zimbabwean middle and lower order, resulting in their total of 79 runs.

In reply, Afghanistan started their chase with aggression. Mohammad Akram hit 14 runs off just five balls before being dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani. Sediqullah Atal maintained the momentum, scoring 20 runs off 14 balls before falling to Ernest Masuku. Masuku struck again, removing Noor ul Rahman, giving Zimbabwe a glimmer of hope. However, Ibrahim Zadran (25 not out) and Azmatullah Omarzai (18 not out) ensured a comfortable victory for Afghanistan, finishing the match with seven wickets in hand.

Series Overview and Future Matches
