Aditya Ruhela Signs PPA Tour Deal, Making Waves in Pickleball
Aditya Ruhela's Major Breakthrough in Pickleball
Indian pickleball athlete Aditya Ruhela announced on March 28 via Instagram that he has officially signed a contract with the PPA Tour. According to a report from Pickleball Now, Aditya's agent confirmed that this significant deal will allow him to compete not only in the American tour but also in Major League Pickleball and various PPA events worldwide, particularly in the rapidly expanding Asian market.
In his Instagram post, Aditya expressed his gratitude, stating, "From dreaming about moments like this to living it. Extremely grateful to be stepping onto the @ppatour. There’s been a lot of unseen work, sacrifices, and belief behind this moment. Grateful to my agent nate (@superagent2024) and my sponsors @yashdesai0627 @dhaval0626 @kutchpickleballassociation. Now it’s time to compete with the best and earn my place."
Aditya is now the second Indian player to secure a PPA Tour deal, following Armaan Bhatia, who signed last year after an impressive showing on the APP Tour. Earlier this month, Aditya made his debut at the Newport Beach Open.
Having represented the Lucknow Leopards in the inaugural Indian Pickleball League (IPBL), Ruhela is recognized as one of India's top talents in the sport. His ascent has been marked by consistent performances, earning him the titles of India No. 1 and Asia No. 1, showcasing his prowess across the continent.
One of his career highlights includes winning a silver medal at the English Open, making him the first Indian to achieve an international medal outside Asia. This accomplishment has solidified his role as a trailblazer for Indian pickleball on the global stage.
Currently, Ruhela holds a DUPR rating of 5.5. His new agreement with the PPA Tour could open doors for him in Major League Pickleball (MLP) and PPA Tour Asia, potentially enhancing his visibility in elite competitions.
