WhatsApp Introduces Voicemail Feature to Enhance User Communication
New Features Rolling Out on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is continuously updating its platform to improve user experience. One of the standout features launched recently is the ability to schedule calls, which allows users to plan group calls in advance. Participants receive notifications shortly before the call begins, making it easier to join.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned messaging service is currently testing a voicemail feature aimed at further enhancing user interaction, as seen in the latest WhatsApp Android beta version (v2.22.22.5).
Voicemail Feature Details
This new voicemail feature will greatly benefit users by allowing them to listen to recorded messages and respond based on urgency. Earlier this year, Apple introduced a similar feature for iPhones in India, enabling callers to leave short audio messages that recipients can reply to at their convenience. WhatsApp's voicemail will function similarly.
With a user base exceeding 500 million in India, WhatsApp is expected to receive a favorable reaction to this new feature. Additionally, the platform is developing a voice call reminder feature, which will enable users to set reminders for returning missed calls. This feature will include three preset options: after 2 hours, after 8 hours, and after 24 hours, along with a custom option for personalized timing.
