Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects

High-Level Meeting on Infrastructure Development
On Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a high-level meeting to assess the implementation of major projects by the Public Works Department and to strategize for the future.
The meeting saw participation from senior officials of the department, district magistrates from across the state, representatives from various assemblies, and relevant departmental officials through digital platforms.
A spokesperson for the state government indicated that the Chief Minister has mandated that proposals for the 18 key projects of the Public Works Department be submitted from all 75 districts by June 30.
Adityanath emphasized that the benefits of development should be determined not by political boundaries but by local needs. He instructed that each of the 403 assembly constituencies should receive direct benefits from at least two to three projects, in line with the concept of inclusive development.
He also suggested that the ground-breaking or foundation-laying ceremonies for development projects should be conducted through local representatives to foster a sense of community participation in development.
The Chief Minister proposed that each year, 50 significant religious sites be selected based on their historical importance and the number of devotees, prioritizing the construction and strengthening of roads connecting these sites.
Focusing on the quality, repair, and safety of roads, he stated that no potholes should be visible on any road in the state. Adityanath highlighted the need for a special strategy for areas prone to flooding and heavy rainfall, noting that small bridges and roads often suffer damage due to waterlogging. He urged that proposals be prepared in advance based on forecasts so that work can commence as soon as the rains subside.
