Anticipation Builds for Nothing Phone 3 Launch

The highly awaited Nothing Phone 3 is set to debut on July 1, with numerous leaked images hinting at its design. Recent disclosures have also shed light on the device's specifications, particularly regarding its chipset. A new leak suggests that the phone may feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, a shift from earlier reports indicating it would utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 boasts a CPU configuration that includes a Cortex-X4 core running at 3.2 GHz, alongside three Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3 GHz, two more at 2.8 GHz, and an additional two at 2 GHz. This arrangement is expected to enhance performance compared to last year's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. However, the absence of Qualcomm's advanced Oryon CPU cores may result in the new processor falling short of the Snapdragon 8 Elite's capabilities.

Enhanced Graphics and Connectivity Features

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is equipped with an Adreno GPU featuring a new sliced architecture, which was first introduced with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This processor is recognized for its neural processing unit (NPU), which is reported to be 44% faster than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It also supports real-time segmentation for 4K/30fps low-light video and images.

In terms of connectivity, the device is expected to support Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi XPAN, allowing users to connect compatible earbuds and headphones via Wi-Fi for improved range and audio quality. However, if the Nothing Phone 3 is indeed powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, it may miss out on features like 8K video recording, 4K/120FPS slow-motion capture, and mmWave 5G capabilities. As Nothing has yet to confirm these details, the final specifications remain uncertain.
