PM Modi Highlights Cybersecurity and Economic Warfare in Odisha
Strengthening India's Banking System
Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that modern conflicts extend beyond traditional battlefields, now encompassing economic strategies, and highlighted the importance of safeguarding India's banking infrastructure from potential 'cyber terrorists'.
While inaugurating the Reserve Bank of India's new data center and Cybersecurity Training Institute, which cost Rs 169 crore, he noted that these initiatives would significantly benefit both the people of Odisha and the nation as a whole.
Modi stated, "For us, development signifies a balanced advancement of India, creating opportunities for rural areas and smaller towns."
He pointed out that India's banking sector has become one of the most efficient globally, providing citizens with 24/7 access to banking services.
Small business owners, traditional craftsmen, street vendors, and workers in the informal sector have gained access to formal banking services for the first time, he remarked.
He criticized the previous Congress administration, stating that banking services were primarily available to a select group of wealthy individuals who could easily secure loans, while the poor, middle-class, and women faced significant barriers. However, he noted that since 2014, a more equitable approach has been adopted. Debit and credit cards, once considered luxuries, are now accessible to everyone.
Modi added, "The last decade focused on extending banking services to those who were previously excluded. The next decade will concentrate on enhancing the efficiency and reliability of these services."
He concluded by expressing optimism about Odisha's future, stating that the state will thrive in various sectors, from mining to microchips, opening numerous opportunities for the youth.
