Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, showed off the AI functionality of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in a video posted on Instagram. Zuckerberg showed that the device is being tested on multimodal AI. The multimodal AI tech allows the device to both see and hear, as an Instagram Reel video showed off its impressive AI performance. The CEO says that "Hey Meta" can also recommend what to wear, as it describes what it sees and picks out the necessary details. The testing phase of Meta AI in Ray-Ban smart glasses will begin in the US through an opt-in early access program.

Meta says it is also rolling out the ability to query Meta AI real-time information to all Ray-Ban Meta devices in the US. The initiative is partially powered by Bing. The models are offered in Meta online stores as the Meta Wayfarer and Meta Headliner for $299 each. Both variants are offered in seven color options which include Matte Black, Glossy, Shiny Jeans and Shiny Caramel. Lenses come in clear, green, amber, blue or brown. The clear lens option comes with or without a blue light filter.

Meta is launching a pre-release version of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses with AI capabilities. It will be available to select users in the US. Full-release optics are expected to be provided later.
