Record Growth in Defence Exports


New Delhi: In the fiscal year 2025-26, India's defence exports reached an unprecedented Rs 38,424 crore, showcasing a remarkable growth of over 62% compared to the previous year, as announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday.


Singh highlighted that this significant increase in defence exports is a testament to the rising global confidence in India's homegrown defence capabilities, stating that the nation is crafting a compelling narrative of success in defence exports.


The defence minister noted, "India's defence exports have achieved a new record of Rs 38,424 crore in FY 2025-26, reflecting a robust growth of 62.66% from the last fiscal year."


He further elaborated that the increase of Rs 14,802 crore in defence exports underscores the growing international trust in India's indigenous manufacturing prowess and capabilities.


The contribution from Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) accounted for 54.84%, while the private sector contributed 45.16%, illustrating the strength of a collaborative and self-sufficient defence ecosystem.


In comparison, India's defence exports were Rs 23,622 crore in 2024-25 and Rs 21,083 crore in 2023-24.
