Uttar Pradesh Governor Celebrates Women's Role in Agriculture
On Sunday, Anandiben Patel, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, emphasized the significant role women are playing in agriculture through the 'Drone Didis' initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While addressing the 18th convocation ceremony at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, the Governor noted that this initiative aims to enhance women's participation in the agricultural sector, allowing them to establish a new identity as 'Drone Didis'.
She stated, “It is essential for women to be involved in every field. The government is consistently working towards making women healthy, empowered, and self-reliant.”
During the event, a total of 583 degrees were awarded to students, including 26 medals for outstanding performance in undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs.
The Governor also presented books to the teachers of a primary school in a village adopted by the university. She urged the graduating students, saying, “If you utilize your knowledge for the benefit of the nation, nothing can stop this country from progressing.”
