Initiation of Land Acquisition for Japanese City

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has commenced the land acquisition process for the establishment of a 'Japanese City' adjacent to the Noida International Airport. Officials indicate that this area will attract investments from electronics firms, particularly in sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), green hydrogen, solar energy, and automotive industries. The Japanese City is set to be developed in Sector 5 of Yamuna City. The authority has made available a list on its official website detailing the land available for purchase from farmers and has allowed a 15-day period for filing objections, as reported by a local media outlet.

A senior official from YEIDA mentioned that a 'Korean City' will also be constructed in Sector 4, with both projects collectively covering 760 hectares of land, which will be acquired from farmers at a cost of Rs 2,544 crore. The Uttar Pradesh government will contribute Rs 1,272 crore, while the remaining funds will be sourced from the Yamuna Authority. The official further explained that 70% of the land will be designated for industrial purposes, 10% for residential, 13% for commercial, 5% for institutional, and 2% for roads and green spaces. These urban developments will feature a modern road network, reliable power supply, security measures, and various civic amenities. Employees working in the Japanese City will benefit from facilities such as housing, schools, and hospitals within their vicinity.
