Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Launches: New EVs and Hybrids on the Horizon

Exciting New Models from Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its vehicle lineup, with plans to introduce a range of new electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids. Although specific details about these upcoming models have not been disclosed, the company is expected to unveil several new cars in the near future.
Potential Compact MPV and Micro SUV
There are indications that Suzuki may introduce a compact MPV or a micro SUV aimed at the lower segment of the market, likely to compete with models like the Tata Punch. This new vehicle could feature a hybrid option, aligning with Suzuki's strategy to expand its hybrid offerings. Historically, the company has attempted to penetrate this segment with models such as the Ignis and Ritz, but the Wagon R has remained the standout performer. An update to the Wagon R could be on the cards to refresh its aging design.
Maruti Suzuki EWX: A Concept to Watch
The EWX, a small hatchback concept revealed at an auto show in Japan, showcases a tall, SUV-like design. Although there has been no recent communication from Suzuki regarding its launch, there remains a possibility that this small EV could soon make its debut in India.
Fronx Hybrid: An Enhanced Version
Maruti Suzuki is also developing an updated Fronx model equipped with a hybrid powertrain. The vehicle has been seen undergoing testing, suggesting that its launch is imminent. However, it remains unclear whether it will feature a mild hybrid system or a full hybrid setup. Suzuki has two engine options available for adaptation: a 1-liter turbocharged engine and a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine.
New 5-Seater SUV in Development
Recently, Suzuki announced plans for a brand-new 5-seater SUV aimed at competing with the KIA Sonet in the Indian market. With existing compact SUVs like the Vitara Brezza and Grand Vitara already in their lineup, this new model is expected to incorporate hybrid powertrains as part of Suzuki's forward-looking strategy.
