Successful Tumor Removal at MKCG Medical College


Berhampur: A team of medical professionals at MKCG Medical College and Hospital has successfully transformed the life of a woman by excising a 250-gram brain tumor.


According to hospital officials, Shanti Mahankuda, a 50-year-old resident of Badagada in Ganjam district, had been suffering from severe cognitive impairments due to the tumor, which hindered her ability to recognize individuals, respond to auditory stimuli, and engage in normal interactions.


Her family sought medical assistance at MKCG Medical College on September 11, where diagnostic tests revealed the presence of a brain tumor. She was subsequently admitted to the Neuro-Surgery department, where an eight-hour surgical procedure was conducted by a team led by Rabi Narayan Panda, the head of neurosurgery.


The surgery was reported to be successful, marking a significant milestone in her recovery.
