Strengthening Ties Through Conservation

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt thanks to Namibia for its assistance in relocating cheetahs to India, describing this initiative as a powerful narrative of collaboration, conservation, and compassion between the two nations.


While addressing a joint session of Namibia's parliament, Modi reminisced about the moment he personally released the cheetahs into Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, "The story of cooperation, conservation, and compassion between India and Namibia is remarkable, especially when you helped us reintroduce cheetahs into our country. We are immensely grateful for this gift."


In a light-hearted manner, he mentioned that the cheetahs have sent a message: everything is going well. The Prime Minister noted that the cheetahs are thriving and adapting well to their new environment, with their population on the rise, indicating that they are happily residing in India.
