New FASTag Annual Pass for Hassle-Free Highway Travel


New Delhi: On Wednesday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the launch of a FASTag-based annual pass for private vehicles, set to be priced at Rs 3,000 and available from August 15. This initiative aims to enhance the convenience of highway travel.


Gadkari shared on X that the pass will be valid for one year from the activation date or until 200 trips are completed, whichever occurs first. It is specifically tailored for non-commercial vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans.


The Minister of Road Transport and Highways emphasized that this annual pass will facilitate smooth and economical travel across National Highways nationwide.


A special link for activation and renewal will soon be accessible via the Rajmarg Yatra App, along with the official websites of the NHAI and MoRTH.


Gadkari noted that this policy addresses persistent issues related to toll plazas within a 60 km radius and simplifies toll payments through a single, cost-effective transaction.


He stated, "The annual pass is designed to reduce wait times, alleviate congestion, and minimize disputes at toll plazas, ultimately providing a quicker and more enjoyable travel experience for countless private vehicle owners."
