Budokai Karate Association Provides Vital Aid to Flood-Affected Families in Himachal Pradesh

MANDI: The Budokai Karate Association's Himachal Pradesh branch has stepped up to assist residents in the Seraj area of Mandi district, who have been severely impacted by devastating flash floods caused by multiple cloudbursts.
The floods have caused extensive damage across various villages, leading to the displacement of many families. Numerous individuals have lost their homes, livestock, and tragically, some have even lost family members in this disaster. While various governmental and non-governmental organizations have initiated relief operations, the Budokai Karate Association, based in Chennai, has distinguished itself with its prompt and effective response.
Under the guidance of Mukesh Thakur, the association's local unit quickly evaluated the situation on the ground.
Upon discovering that two of his former students, Teela Thakur and Nobita Thakur, had lost their cowshed, livestock, and home, the association promptly provided a financial relief package of Rs 1.5 lakh to aid in their recovery.
In a particularly tragic case, an 11-month-old infant named Neetika, who lost her entire family in the floods, also received financial support and heartfelt wishes for a brighter future from the association.
Additionally, families in the nearby Drunu and Suraah areas were also assisted, with each receiving Rs 15,000 in aid. This support was made possible through collaboration with the association's headquarters in Chennai and a group of Delhi Police sub-inspectors who actively participated in the relief efforts.
This is not the first instance of the Budokai Karate Association making a significant impact in the Seraj region. Between 2018 and 2020, Mukesh Thakur worked as a teacher at the Government Senior Secondary School in Shikawari, where he established 'Team Sabla' to train female students in self-defense in partnership with the association. This commitment to empowerment and service continues through their humanitarian initiatives.
