Zinc FA and Garhwal United FC Secure Semi-Final Spots

Zinc Football Academy and Garhwal United FC have successfully reached the semi-finals of the AIFF U17 Women's Youth League 2026-27 after winning their respective quarter-final matches at the RKM Football Academy in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on July 24.

In a challenging match marked by rain, Zinc FA triumphed over the local team, RKM Football Academy, with a score of 3-2. Meanwhile, Garhwal United FC narrowly defeated DFA Raisen 1-0 in the second quarter-final, as reported by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Zinc FA will face the winner of the upcoming match between Nita FA and Sethu FC, while Garhwal United FC awaits the outcome of the fourth quarter-final between Kickstart FC and HOPS FC. The remaining quarter-finals are scheduled for July 25, with the semi-finals set for July 27.

Zinc FA Triumphs in a Thrilling Encounter

Zinc FA emerged as the first team to secure a semi-final spot after a thrilling 3-2 victory over RKM FA. The match was tightly contested, remaining 1-1 at halftime, but Zinc scored twice shortly after the break to take control.

The match began with Zinc taking an early lead in the fifth minute. Dangi Mardi, playing on the left wing, received a pass from Rahi Patel and delivered a precise ball into the box. Captain Antara Dolui skillfully controlled it and struck a low shot into the far corner.

This goal energized RKM, who responded with a strong offensive push. In the 25th minute, Naveena Mourya's free-kick found Harshita Nag, who quickly equalized with a well-placed shot.

After halftime, Zinc regained the lead just six minutes in, with Antara setting up Sakshi Patel for a goal. Antara then scored again in the 55th minute, showcasing her skill by evading a defender and finishing with precision.

Despite RKM's efforts to equalize, including a stunning free-kick from Mahima Mandavi that narrowed the score to 3-2, they could not find the equalizer, ending their tournament run.

Garhwal United FC Advances with Late Goal

Garhwal United FC's match against DFA Raisen was characterized by a strong defensive display from both teams, resulting in limited scoring opportunities. However, Garhwal capitalized on a crucial chance late in the game.

The effective partnership between Japleen Kaur and Sunaina on Garhwal's left flank created a significant opportunity in the 82nd minute. Japleen's cross was mishandled by Raisen's goalkeeper, allowing substitute Mala Kumari to score the decisive goal.

The first half saw both teams struggle to break through each other's defenses, with Garhwal employing quick passes while Raisen opted for long balls. Garhwal had a couple of early chances, but Raisen's defense held firm.

As the match progressed, Raisen's defense faltered, allowing Garhwal to secure their place in the semi-finals.
