Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has reassured that the senior men's team is safe in India after finishing their ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 journey. Originally, the team was set to return home through Dubai, but the ongoing situation in the Middle East has disrupted their travel plans. ZC stated, "The International Cricket Council (ICC) has initiated contingency plans and is collaborating with international airlines to arrange alternative travel options. ZC is in regular contact with the ICC and the team management to ensure a safe and timely return for the squad."

Zimbabwe concluded their tournament with a match against South Africa on Sunday and was scheduled to fly back to Harare on Monday via Dubai. The team had reservations on Emirates flights from Delhi to Dubai, continuing to Harare, with travel set to begin in batches early Monday morning. However, rising tensions in West Asia have resulted in extensive airspace closures, leading airlines to suspend or reroute numerous flights, leaving the team temporarily stranded in India. Alternative travel routes and carriers are currently being considered.
This disruption follows missile exchanges involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, prompting several West Asian nations to temporarily close their airspace.
