Zelenskyy Calls for a Forceful Approach

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged the international community to adopt a 'language of force' in dealings with Russia, asserting that this is the only way they comprehend. In a video message shared on X, he stated, 'This is the language that should guide all forms of international dialogue in the upcoming months.'


Anticipation for Upcoming June Summits

Zelenskyy expressed optimism regarding the forthcoming summits in June, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the G7 Summit in Canada and the NATO Summit in the Netherlands are substantive. He noted, 'In the coming weeks, significant meetings and discussions will occur in Ukraine.' The G7 Summit is scheduled to take place in Canada from June 15 to 17, 2025, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirming his invitation from newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.


Challenges in Prisoner Exchange Negotiations

A planned exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine that was set for Saturday faced complications due to disagreements. Russia claimed that Ukraine delayed the exchange, a statement Kyiv denied. Zelenskyy remarked that Ukraine is committed to securing the release of its prisoners of war and the return of its fallen soldiers, noting that Russia has yet to provide the complete lists for the exchange of over a thousand individuals as previously agreed in Istanbul.


Zelenskyy Critiques Russia's Tactics

The Ukrainian leader further condemned Russia for attempting to manipulate the situation into a political and informational game. 'We are doing everything possible to keep the exchange process on track,' he asserted.
