Significant Discussion on Defense Cooperation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently shared that he had a crucial phone discussion with US President Donald Trump, during which he expressed appreciation for America's willingness to assist Ukraine.


In a message posted on X, Zelensky stated, "Regarding drones, we have reached an agreement with a prominent American firm to enhance our collaborative efforts. Our conversation with the US President was highly productive, focusing on air defense. I am thankful for the support offered. The Patriot systems are essential for countering ballistic threats."


Military Developments and Drone Attacks

In related news, the Ukrainian military reported an attack on the Borisoglebsk airbase located in Russia's Voronezh region, where glide bombs and training aircraft were stationed. As per reports, Russian officials have not yet responded to this incident.


Moscow's Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that Russia's air defense successfully intercepted four Ukrainian drones approaching the capital, which led to a temporary suspension of flights at a major airport in Moscow.


Russian Defense Ministry Reports

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that 48 Ukrainian drones were intercepted over a span of five hours leading up to Saturday evening, with an additional 45 drones shot down throughout the day. They had previously reported the destruction of 94 drones in Russian airspace on Friday night.


Conversely, the Ukrainian Air Force indicated that Russia launched a total of 322 drones and decoys from Friday night to Saturday morning, with 157 being shot down and 135 possibly diverted due to electronic interference.


Trump's Remarks on the Situation

Following his discussions with Zelensky, President Trump emphasized the necessity of Patriot missiles for Ukraine's defense.


He also expressed dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin's inability to cease hostilities, stating, "I am very unhappy with my previous conversation with Putin. It appears he is intent on continuing the violence, which is unacceptable."
