YSRCP Protests Demand CBI Inquiry into DSC-2025 Recruitment Irregularities in Andhra Pradesh

Protests Erupt Across Andhra Pradesh
On Tuesday, members and leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) staged protests throughout Andhra Pradesh. They called for the resignation of the state's Education Minister, Nara Lokesh, and demanded a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process. In response, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) condemned the protests, accusing the opposition of politicizing the 'Mega DSC' recruitment process, despite the Andhra Pradesh High Court validating it.
Allegations of Irregularities in Recruitment Process
According to YSRCP, the recruitment process under Mega DSC has been marred by numerous irregularities. The party emphasized that despite the significant promotion of the Mega DSC recruitment, it has faced various issues. They asserted that the Education Minister should take moral responsibility and resign, urging the central government to order a CBI inquiry into the recruitment process. In a press release, the party highlighted a decline of over 550,000 students in government school enrollments over the past two years, disputing the government's claim that 110,000 students had transitioned from private to government schools.
Concerns Over Educational Resources and Benefits
YSRCP also pointed out that despite more than a month passing since the academic year began, essential textbooks have yet to reach several schools, and the 'Vidya Kanuka' program has not been implemented this year. Furthermore, they claimed that over 2.26 million beneficiaries have been excluded from the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme, which provides ₹15,000 annually for each child attending school. The party is demanding a full refund of fees, the reinstatement of the 'Vasati Devena' scheme, and the promised monthly unemployment allowance of ₹3,000 for eligible youth.
YSRCP's Commitment to Education
YSRCP leaders stated that the purpose of these protests is to safeguard the interests of public education, government schools, and students. They also urged the government to heed the concerns raised by the opposition. Meanwhile, YSRCP leader RK Roja accused the TDP-led government of ignoring repeated calls for a CBI investigation, despite the protests from unemployed DSC candidates.
