Hyderabad, Aug 21: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused the authorities of downplaying a tragic incident from June 16, where a young woman lost her life after being struck by a vehicle driven by Lingamaneni Ramesh’s son, a member of the Jana Sena Party. The party claims that political connections between Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu have led to a suppression of the case.

According to YSRCP spokesperson Karthik Yellapragada, the collaboration between the Congress-led Telangana government and Naidu's administration is evident. He pointed out that the FIR against Lingamaneni Ramesh's son was only filed five days ago, suggesting that the case has been kept under wraps without any public statements or discussions due to the political ties involved.

Call for Justice

Yellapragada emphasized the need for justice, drawing parallels between this incident and a previous case involving YSRCP leader Seediri Appalaraju's son, who faced legal consequences. He alleged that while Appalaraju and his son were imprisoned due to political motives, the case against the Jana Sena MP’s son has not received the same scrutiny.

On August 16, Bharathi Mukhi, a 26-year-old sales executive, was tragically killed when an Aston Martin, driven by Lingamaneni Sanjush, struck her while she was crossing the road near a mall in Madhapur. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at Apollo Hospital.

Police Investigation

Following the incident, Cyberabad Police confirmed that Lingamaneni Sanjush, aged 21, was identified as the driver. He was detained on the same day, and both alcohol and drug tests were conducted, with blood samples sent for forensic analysis. A case has been registered against him under section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Madhapur Police Station for causing death through negligent driving.

Lingamaneni Ramesh serves as a Rajya Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated with the Jana Sena Party, which is led by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
