YS Sharmila Accuses YSRCP Chief of Supporting BJP

Allegations Against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

On Tuesday, YS Sharmila, the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), accused YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), of backing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She reminded everyone that her late father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was a staunch opponent of the BJP.

During a press conference, Sharmila claimed that Reddy has become a 'foster child' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She stated, 'Over the past five years, Jagan has shown complete submission to the BJP, supporting every bill presented by the central government.'

In response to allegations from YSRCP leader and former minister Roja Selvamani that she is backing Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, Sharmila asserted that the daughter of YSR has never been in a position where she needed to support the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Sharmila expressed that while she was initially hurt by the alleged false propaganda against her from TDP leader N. Balakrishna's residence, she felt more wounded by the purported malicious campaign waged against her by YSRCP. She remarked that the decline of YSRCP began when the party allegedly sidelined her mother, YS Vijayamma.
