YS Sharmila Accuses KCR and Jagan of Phone Tapping Conspiracy

YS Sharmila Reddy, the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), has leveled serious accusations against former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. During a press conference in Visakhapatnam, she claimed that a coordinated phone tapping operation was directed at her and her close associates. Sharmila asserted that the occurrence of phone tapping is an undeniable truth, alleging that her phone, along with those of her husband and close contacts, was illegally monitored. She described this surveillance as part of a larger conspiracy aimed at politically and financially incapacitating her.

Sharmila revealed that YSRCP MP V. Vijayasai Reddy personally informed her about the surveillance. She mentioned that he had played one of the tapped audio recordings for her. However, she expressed skepticism about his willingness to admit this, given that Jagan has previously used him to lie about matters involving his relatives. Sharmila accused them of colluding with KCR to suppress her political ambitions, stating that the relationship between Jagan and KCR undermines even blood ties. She emphasized that the phone tapping was a crucial part of their strategy to isolate and intimidate her supporters.

She further elaborated on how this situation has made it difficult for her to breathe politically, detailing instances where her political allies were threatened and discouraged from supporting her. Sharmila noted that the campaign intensified after she decided to establish her own party in Telangana.
