Celebration of Mahavir Jayanti

On Tuesday, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, paid homage to Lord Mahavir at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, marking the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti (the birth anniversary of Mahavir). In a post, Reddy honored the teachings of Lord Mahavir, stating that the great saint demonstrated the path to living a moral life. He emphasized that the principles shown by this revered figure are always worth practicing. Reddy noted that Mahavir imparted the five great vows of non-violence, truth, non-stealing, celibacy, and non-possessiveness, guiding people towards a virtuous life.


On this auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, heartfelt greetings were extended to everyone, especially to the Jain community.


Notable attendees at the event included former minister R.K. Roja, YSRCP General Secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy, General Secretary S.V. Satish Kumar Reddy, former president of Jain Welfare Corporation Manoj Kothari, Kundan Gandhi (Secretary, SSR JST), Praveen Foulamutha (Reporter, SSR JST), Praveen Kumar Jain, and Manoj Jain. Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu also conveyed warm wishes for Mahavir Jayanti, urging citizens to strive continuously towards building a more sensitive, peaceful, and inclusive society. She highlighted that the teachings of Lord Mahavir inspire individuals to lead a life filled with compassion.
