Youth Showcase Skating Skills in Ayodhya's Lata Mangeshkar Chowk
Vibrant Display of Skating in Ayodhya
On Monday morning, the Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya came alive with a spirited exhibition of skating as young athletes showcased their skills. Chanting the Hanuman Chalisa and shouting 'Jai Shri Ram,' participants performed a circumambulation around the area.
The event featured participants aged between 8 and 18, who engaged in various skating activities including speed skating, slalom moves, jumps, spins, and group formations, all while enthusiastically chanting 'Jai Shri Ram.'
Call for a Dedicated Skating Track
Skaters from Ayodhya gathered at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and performing a parikrama. They urged the government to build a dedicated skating track in the 'City of Ram' to facilitate training for young skaters.
Visitors and devotees, who had come to take a holy dip in the River Saryu, paused to enjoy the impressive display.
Skating as a Daily Lifestyle
The young skaters shared that they typically cover 40 to 50 kilometers each day, balancing household chores, errands like grocery shopping, school, social visits, and temple activities.
They highlighted the health benefits of skating and noted that it helps them avoid the challenges posed by rising fuel prices.
In a time when many are struggling with fuel costs, they find skating to be an efficient way to manage their daily tasks, describing it as a highly beneficial lifestyle choice.
Community Reactions and Suggestions
Devotees expressed joy at witnessing such an event in the 'City of Ram' early in the day. They emphasized that promoting sports among the youth is a genuine form of service to Lord Ram.
Some attendees suggested that Lata Mangeshkar Chowk be designated as a 'No-Vehicle Zone' once a week during morning hours to provide children with a safe space to play.
