Court Delivers Justice in Serious Crime Case
In a significant ruling, a local court in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, has convicted a young man for the kidnapping and subsequent rape of a teenage girl, sentencing him to 25 years in prison. According to special public prosecutor Vimal Kumar Rai, the incident involved a 15-year-old girl from a village in the Sahatwar police jurisdiction, who was abducted on April 24, 2024, while she was on her way to the market to purchase medicine.
The case was initiated following a complaint lodged by the girl's father, leading to the registration of a case against the accused, Naushad. After a thorough investigation, the police submitted a charge sheet to the court.
On Friday, after hearing arguments from both sides, Special Judge (POCSO Act) First Kanta found Naushad guilty, imposing a sentence of 25 years in prison along with a fine of ₹20,000.
