Youth-Led Protests Erupt in Delhi Against Allegations of Anti-National Activities

Protests at Jantar Mantar Spark Controversy

On Saturday, a significant protest took place at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, leading to a formal complaint against the youth-led satire organization, the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP), for alleged anti-national activities. The complaint claims that CJP is being funded by foreign sources. This action follows a demonstration organized by Abhijit Dipke shortly after his return from the United States, protesting against the leak of the NEET-UG 2026 question paper and irregularities in the CBSE's on-screen marking evaluation process.

Massive Turnout and Calls for Peaceful Protest

Thousands of supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar, brandishing posters and banners. The protest was led by CJP founder Abhijit Dipke and was conducted after receiving permission from the Delhi police. The crowd primarily consisted of school and college students, along with young professionals. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also arrived in Delhi to participate, having previously announced his involvement if no action was taken by June 5.

Security Measures Heightened Ahead of the Protest

Before the protest commenced, Dipke urged his supporters to maintain a peaceful demeanor and even suggested welcoming police officers with flowers. In anticipation of the CJP-led demonstration, security was intensified across Delhi. Additional police forces were deployed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, border entry points, and other sensitive areas.

Precautionary Measures in Place

As a precaution, over 1,000 police personnel were stationed at strategic locations in New Delhi and beyond. CJP also issued guidelines urging participants to uphold non-violent conduct and avoid confrontations.
