Youth for Viksit Bharat Convention
On Saturday, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, inaugurated the 'Youth for Viksit Bharat: MY Bharat Youth Convention' at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi.
This significant event attracted over 6,000 young individuals from various backgrounds, including students, professionals, entrepreneurs, content creators, and emerging leaders. The convention highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping the nation and India's ambition to become a developed country by 2047.
Celebrating Youth Engagement
Notable figures such as MLA and singer Maithili Thakur, actor Vikrant Massey, entrepreneur Aman Gupta, and cricketer Jitesh Sharma engaged with MY Bharat NSS volunteers, sharing their journeys and motivating the youth to excel and contribute to national progress. The event showcased various youth engagement initiatives from across the nation.
Union Minister's Vision for Youth
In his speech, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that the youth are the backbone of the nation, crucial for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat. He pointed out that nearly 65% of India's population is under 35 years old, stating, "The youth represent our strength, pride, and future. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, numerous opportunities have emerged for young Indians to innovate and contribute to nation-building across various sectors, including startups and sports."
He also praised the MY Bharat initiative for its role in harnessing youth potential and encouraged active participation in its programs and volunteer opportunities.
Chief Minister's Encouragement
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed the attendees, asserting that the youth are set to elevate the nation through their talent and hard work. She highlighted the importance of perseverance and discipline in achieving excellence, commending the accomplishments of young Indians in various fields such as sports and entrepreneurship.
Insights from Celebrities
During the convention, actor Vikrant Massey discussed the rapid growth of India's creator economy, attributing it to digital empowerment and innovation fostered by the government. Entrepreneur Aman Gupta shared insights on the government's initiatives to establish India as a global startup hub.
The event also recognized outstanding athletes for their contributions to Indian sports, with cricketer Jitesh Sharma inspiring young athletes with his message of 'Play in India, Play for India.'
Commitment to Nation-Building
The session featured Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary of Youth Affairs, who reiterated the significance of ongoing youth engagement in nation-building and the government's dedication to empowering young leaders.
The convention concluded with the Viksit Bharat Sankalp, reaffirming the commitment of young citizens to actively participate in building a self-reliant and inclusive India by the centenary of Independence in 2047.
