Protests Erupt Over Legal Action Against Rahul Gandhi

The Indian Youth Congress staged a demonstration in Bihar on Friday to protest the filing of a case against Rahul Gandhi.

According to a statement released by the Youth Congress, party leaders and activists chanted slogans against the ruling BJP and Janata Dal (United) government in Bihar.

Uday Bhanu Chib, the president of the Indian Youth Congress, asserted that Rahul Gandhi is fighting for social justice and will not be swayed by any false allegations. Meanwhile, Akshay Lakra, the president of the Delhi Youth Congress, emphasized that the youth stand firmly behind Rahul Gandhi, stating that no force can deter him, and this FIR will not affect him.

On Thursday, police registered two FIRs against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and over 100 party workers for allegedly organizing an 'Education, Justice Dialogue' event at the Ambedkar Hostel without permission.

As the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi had engaged with students at the Ambedkar Hostel as part of the Congress's statewide outreach campaign. Prior to this, the district administration had denied permission for the event and suggested an alternative venue, which the Congress rejected, leading to the current standoff.
