Young Man Murdered in Amethi: Investigation Underway
Murder Investigation in Amethi District
In Amethi district, a 22-year-old man was reportedly murdered by having his throat slit, as confirmed by police on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Ankit Kashyap, a resident of Mansingh Ka Purwa in Katra Lalganj. Authorities have detained three individuals for questioning in connection with the case.
According to family members, Ankit left home on Sunday to travel to Delhi, but he went missing shortly thereafter. After an extensive search, his body was discovered at the residence of Sukhi Yadav in the town of Gauriganj. Family members allege that Sukhi Yadav held Ankit captive in his home before allegedly committing the murder.
Police reports indicate that Ankit had entered into a love marriage with Sukhi Yadav's niece approximately three years ago. Initial investigations suggest that a longstanding family dispute may have led to the tragic incident. Additional Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar Singh stated that a case has been registered based on the family's complaint, leading to the detention of three suspects.
The body has been sent for autopsy, and further legal actions are being pursued. Police Superintendent Saravanan T. inspected the crime scene and recorded statements from the victim's family. He assured that anyone found guilty in this case would face strict consequences.
