A young man is distraught after discovering that his in-laws had arranged his marriage to a transgender person, prompting him to seek police assistance.
This incident unfolded in the village of Bhavkhedi, Shivpuri, where 23-year-old Pankhi Jatav approached the Superintendent of Police with a complaint regarding his transgender wife. He explained that he had married a woman named Manisha, but on their wedding night, he was shocked to learn that Manisha was not a woman but a transgender individual. Stunned by this revelation, he immediately contacted his father-in-law to express his inability to continue the marriage.
The following day, Manisha informed her elder brother Phoolsingh and sister Saroj about the situation. They took her to a hospital for examination. Allegations suggest that medical tests confirmed Manisha's transgender status. Consequently, Pankhi sent Manisha back to her parental home. Nearly two years have passed since then, but Pankhi claims that Manisha is now harassing him, while his in-laws are pressuring him to either take her back or provide for her.
Pankhi further alleges that his in-laws have threatened him with physical harm. This alarming situation led him to file a complaint at the SP office, leaving the police astonished by his story. However, Pankhi has been unable to provide evidence of Manisha's transgender status to the police. As a result, they advised him to approach the family court. This recommendation comes amid Manisha's prior complaint against Pankhi regarding support and cohabitation.
