Bhopal: In an impressive feat of skill and perseverance, Aditya, a promising athlete from Dhar Drumka village in Kangra district, has made his mark by winning a bronze medal in the Under-19, 66 kg category at the National Judo Championship held in Bhopal.


Currently enrolled in Class 10 at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Paprola (Kangra), Aditya demonstrated his talent on a national platform, facing off against some of the best young judokas from around the country. The championship took place in Ratibad, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from August 22 to 24, 2025.


Aditya's path to this national event has been nothing short of inspiring. Before competing in Bhopal, he took part in selection trials at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pojewal in Nawanshahr district, Punjab, where he secured the top position in his weight class, earning the chance to represent at the national level. His dedication and competitive spirit have been key to his success.


After his victory, Aditya expressed gratitude for the steadfast support and mentorship from his school principal and teachers. He humbly stated, “Their encouragement and guidance have been instrumental in helping me reach this milestone.” He aspires to continue excelling in judo and to bring further recognition to his village and state.


This bronze medal not only underscores Aditya's individual talent but also highlights the burgeoning sports culture in the rural areas of Himachal Pradesh, where more students are making their presence felt in national competitions.
