Yogi Adityanath's Upcoming Ayodhya Visit Amid Ram Temple Donation Controversy
Yogi Adityanath's Scheduled Visit to Ayodhya
In light of ongoing allegations regarding financial irregularities in donations for the Ram Temple, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's planned visit to Ayodhya on June 19 is drawing significant attention. Authorities have already initiated a thorough investigation into the donation controversy, with a team interrogating temple staff and scrutinizing their operations in recent days. Should Yogi Adityanath address this issue, all eyes will be on his statements.
Additionally, as the investigation into the alleged donation misappropriation unfolds, the district administration has established a protocol for the visit. This includes a decision to send a representative in place of Champat Rai from the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The situation has already gained political traction, with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav accusing the temple administration of widespread irregularities, financial mismanagement, and alleged embezzlement of donation funds.
Yogi Adityanath's trip coincides with the 88th birthday celebration of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the president of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, scheduled for June 27. A conference of spiritual leaders will be held on this occasion, with festivities commencing on June 19 with the start of the Shri Ram Katha, which will last for ten days. Invitations have been sent to several chief ministers, and reports suggest that many have already confirmed their attendance.
The three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) established by the Uttar Pradesh government is currently probing the allegations of irregularities in donations received for the renowned Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. This SIT, formed at the behest of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, includes Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police Kiran S, and Special Secretary of the Finance Department Neel Ratan. The team has been instructed to submit an initial report within seven days and a final report within fifteen days.
