Yogi Adityanath's Address on Skill Development
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh participated in a ceremony honoring youth trained under the Skill Development Mission and ITI programs. During his speech, he emphasized that a shared future is only achievable when opportunities are equally distributed. He expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi for establishing the Ministry of Skill Development in 2014, stating that a collaborative future is contingent upon the government's vision.
Criticism of Previous Government
Yogi further remarked that prior to 2017, the state government had become a negative omen for the region. He noted that the education system for youth was failing, and there were no provisions for skill development, creating an atmosphere of insecurity. He criticized the opposition, claiming that before 2017, government jobs were monopolized by a single family, and job opportunities were scarce. He stated that the idea of youth finding work in Uttar Pradesh was once a dream, but it is now becoming a reality.
Response to Ram Temple Incident
On another note, Yogi Adityanath addressed the alleged theft incident at the Ram Temple, stating that it has hurt the sentiments of devotees. He condemned the politicization of faith-related issues by opposition parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party (SP). He asserted that the incident should not tarnish the reputation of Ayodhya and the Ram Janmabhoomi. Speaking at the 'Panchayat Aaj Tak' event, he mentioned that the Ram Temple Trust is an independent body and that the government has no right to interfere in its matters. Following the incident, an SIT (Special Investigation Team) was formed, and actions were taken as soon as the report was available.
Arrests Made in Theft Case
Yogi announced that six individuals allegedly involved in the theft have been arrested, along with two others accused of assisting them. He noted that alongside these arrests, two resignations have occurred on moral grounds, including that of the Trust's former General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. He reiterated that using this incident to defame Ayodhya, Ram Janmabhoomi, and the faith of Hindus is inappropriate. He criticized the SP and Congress, stating that those who now speak of faith had previously acted against religious traditions.
Reflection on Past Government Policies
Yogi recalled the period before 2017, highlighting that during the SP government, permissions for religious events like the Kanwar Yatra, Ram Navami processions, Janmashtami celebrations, and Durga Puja pandals were denied. He pointed out the irony of those who imposed such bans now discussing faith. He accused previous administrations of attempting to disrupt the atmosphere by allowing prayers at Hanumangarhi's steps while restricting religious practices. He argued that if they were truly secular, they should have permitted the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa inside mosques, but their approach was one-sided.
