Yogi Adityanath Declares Lord Ram as India's True King at Festival in Vrindavan
Significant Remarks by CM Yogi Adityanath
On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a notable statement during the 'Shri Sitaram Nikunj Ashtayam Leela Mahotsav' held at Malook Peeth in Vrindavan. While commemorating the 452nd birth anniversary of Saint Malook Das Ji Maharaj, CM Yogi asserted that the true ruler of India cannot be an outsider or a non-believer; the only sovereign of India is the eternal King Ram.
Reflections on Mughal Era
The Chief Minister recalled the brutality of the Mughal era and the struggles faced by saints during that time. He mentioned that Mughal Emperor Akbar attempted to lure Goswami Tulsidas to his court with greed, but Tulsidas firmly responded that his only king is Ram. CM Yogi emphasized that Saint Malook Das witnessed the reigns of four tyrannical Mughal emperors—Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb—but never compromised on his values and spiritual consciousness.
The Legacy of Saint Malook Das
Yogi noted that even today, the chant 'Bolo Raja Ramchandra Ki Jai' resonates from the stages of Ram Leela, a slogan originally popularized by Saint Tulsidas during the Mughal period. Paying tribute to Saint Malook Das, he remarked that during his time, India was grappling with the cruelty of foreign invaders. He highlighted that 452 years ago, in Prayagraj's Kadhadham, the divine light of devotion was revealed, symbolizing nationalism and spiritual awareness.
Call for Unity Among Sanatan Society
In the presence of saints, Yogi Adityanath urged the Sanatan community to unite. Citing the example of Ayodhya, he pointed out that before 2017, the city had only three hours of electricity, and those who shouted 'Jai Shri Ram' faced sticks instead of sweets. However, today, Ayodhya reflects the grandeur of the Treta Yuga. He stated that when revered saints come together and speak in unison, it can erase centuries of stigma, leading to the construction of a magnificent Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Government Initiatives for Pilgrimage
According to an official statement, the Chief Minister performed rituals at the Shri Malook Peeth Ashram and fed cows with jaggery. He mentioned that the government allocated funds for the 84 Kosi Parikrama and instructed the administration to construct two-lane roads, rest houses, and initiate the pilgrimage. He also noted the removal of encroachments from 67 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells.
Historical Context of Kashi
Yogi Adityanath remarked that Saint Ramanandacharya had disciples from various castes, including Saints Raidas and Kabir. He stated that the 22nd generation of this tradition saw the emergence of Jagadguru Malook Das Ji Maharaj, who focused on India and Sanatan Dharma rather than sects and communities, leading to India's liberation from turmoil. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming Kashi Vishwanath Dham into a divine site.
Transformation of Kashi
He recalled that when Mahatma Gandhi attended the inauguration of Banaras Hindu University in 1916, he expressed a desire to witness Kashi's glory, highlighting its dire state. Yogi noted that upon becoming Chief Minister in 2017, he found that only 50 people could visit the temple at once due to narrow lanes, but now, 50,000 devotees can visit Baba Vishwanath simultaneously.
Presence of Notable Saints
During the event, several prominent figures were present, including Swami Rajendra Das Devacharya Maharaj, Sant Balram Das Devacharya Ji Maharaj, Sant Phooldol Bihari Das Ji, and others.
