Yogi Adityanath's Strong Critique of TMC

On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a fierce critique against the Trinamool Congress (TMC), asserting that the party's governance has led to a significant decline in industries within West Bengal, causing it to lose its status as a national economic leader. Speaking at an election rally in the Big Market, he remarked that the state, once renowned for its industrial prowess, education, and cultural heritage, has regressed due to years of mismanagement. Adityanath claimed that over 7,000 large industries have shut down during the TMC's rule.

Impact on Employment and MSMEs

He further stated that West Bengal, which was once a leader in various sectors, has now fallen to the bottom, adding that thousands of MSME units have also closed, resulting in the loss of nearly 3 million jobs for the youth. He described this decline as transforming the state into a 'graveyard for industries.'

Cultural Heritage Under Attack

Referring to the ancestral home of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore located in Jorasanko, Adityanath accused the TMC of disrespecting Bengal's cultural heritage. He criticized the display of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's posters inside this historic site, labeling it an affront to Tagore's legacy. He emphasized that such places should reflect the essence of Bharat Mata and great cultural figures, rather than serve as platforms for political displays.

Call for Political Change in Bengal

While commemorating the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram,' the Chief Minister asserted that Bengal must reclaim its lost glory, which he believes can only be achieved through a change in government. He advocated for a 'double-engine government' to revive development and industries in the state.

Concerns Over Cultural Identity

Adityanath also expressed concerns regarding language and cultural identity, alleging that Bengali traditions are being overlooked. He accused the TMC of imposing restrictions on religious processions and unnecessarily banning festivals like Durga Puja and Kali Puja. He questioned the TMC's attitude towards religious sentiments, referencing the opposition to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
