Yogi Adityanath Criticizes Opposition Over Ram Temple Donations
Yogi Adityanath Responds to Allegations
On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed allegations regarding irregularities in donations for the Ram Temple, targeting the Samajwadi Party and Congress. He questioned the silence of the opposition on the widespread land encroachments by Waqf institutions. Speaking at a public gathering in Pratapgarh, Adityanath accused opposition parties of selectively attacking Hindu religious institutions while ignoring other pressing issues.
Opposition's Focus on Hindu Faith
Adityanath remarked that Congress and the Samajwadi Party have only two issues left to discuss. He pointed out their recent attempts to undermine India's Sanatan faith, citing Congress's claims that Lord Ram and Lord Krishna never existed. He criticized both parties for their past support of the Babri structure in Ayodhya, suggesting they have changed their stance like chameleons.
Questioning the Opposition's Credibility
The Chief Minister stated that Congress has denied the existence of Ram, while the Samajwadi Party has resorted to violence against Ram devotees. He questioned their right to speak about faith, especially those who misused funds meant for the restoration of Hindu heritage sites. Adityanath asserted that the nation will not fall into the traps set by Congress and the Samajwadi Party.
Response to Financial Management Allegations
In response to the opposition's attacks regarding the financial management of donations related to the Ram Temple, Adityanath raised concerns about the land that has been occupied by Waqf. Without naming specific leaders, he indicated that some parties are attempting to create controversy around the temple, which holds significant importance for millions of devotees. These comments come amid ongoing political tensions surrounding the allegations of financial misconduct related to the temple.
Accusations of Appeasement Politics
Adityanath took this opportunity to reiterate the BJP's broader accusation that the opposition engages in appeasement politics, only questioning matters related to Hinduism and religious institutions. He also highlighted his government's development initiatives in Pratapgarh, including healthcare and infrastructure projects, while criticizing previous administrations on issues of law and order, employment, and governance.
