On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 11 years in office, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commended his leadership on Tuesday. He emphasized the transformative changes under the BJP-led central government and India's growing stature on the global stage. Adityanath remarked that governance now focuses on satisfying all citizens rather than appeasing any particular group, a shift that has been evident over the past 11 years. He praised PM Modi for enhancing India's global image, stating, 'PM Modi has strengthened India's position internationally and given the country a distinct identity.'
Comparison with Previous Governments
In comparing the current administration with previous ones, he noted, 'The 65 years of Congress rule and unstable governments eroded public trust and damaged India's global image, which PM Modi has restored in the last 11 years.' This statement coincides with the BJP celebrating the 11th anniversary of Modi's swearing-in as Prime Minister on May 26, 2014. Party leaders across the nation have highlighted economic reforms, national security, and foreign policy achievements as key features of Modi's tenure.
Economic Growth Under Modi
Adityanath pointed out that prior to 2014, India had a weak and unstable economy, ranking 11th globally. Over the past 11 years, it has risen to become the fourth-largest economy in the world. He noted that during India's 75th Independence Day celebrations, under PM Modi's leadership, the nation surpassed the UK, which had ruled India for nearly 200 years. India is now the only economy that has doubled in size within a decade.
Call to End Dynastic Politics
He further stated that dynastic politics promotes casteism and undermines social unity in the country. 'We must eliminate dynastic politics to avoid repeating historical mistakes and losing our freedom again,' he asserted. Adityanath also discussed the shift in India's response to terrorism since 2014, emphasizing that the country now advocates for peace. He highlighted that PM Modi has transformed the narrative, stating, 'We will live peacefully with friends, but if anyone imposes war on us or promotes terrorism in our country, we will respond with surgical strikes, airstrikes, and operations like Sindoor, showcasing our strength through Made in India initiatives. The world has recently recognized India's power.'
