Yash Dayal Faces Suspension Amid Serious Allegations
Yash Dayal's Legal Troubles Intensify
The challenges for Indian fast bowler Yash Dayal are escalating rather than easing. Recently, he has been suspended due to serious allegations related to a rape case. The left-arm pacer, who plays for RCB in the IPL, will not participate in this year's UPT20 League as a result of the ban imposed by the UPCA.
Allegations and Legal Actions
The decision by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) came after an FIR was filed against Dayal at the Sanganer police station in Jaipur, accusing him of raping a 17-year-old minor. His last appearance on the cricket field was in early May when he was part of the RCB team that won the IPL 2025 trophy. Since then, he has been absent from the sport.
Financial Implications and Further Developments
According to reports, Yash Dayal was purchased by Gorakhpur Lions for ₹7 lakh, but the UPCA has now barred him from participating in the UPT20 2025 due to the ongoing legal issues. Sources from the UPCA indicated that the nature of the allegations led to his exclusion from the league.
Previous Allegations and Court Rulings
Earlier, a woman had filed a complaint against Dayal in Ghaziabad, claiming he had exploited her sexually under the pretense of marriage. This complaint was registered on June 21 through the Chief Minister's grievance portal in Uttar Pradesh, leading to a formal FIR. Although the Allahabad High Court had previously granted a stay on his arrest, a new FIR was filed against him in Jaipur in early July. This time, the Rajasthan High Court declined to grant a stay on his arrest, with the next hearing scheduled for August 22.
