Yamuna City in Greater Noida Set for Major Development Initiatives

Review Meeting on Development Projects

Greater Noida: The Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, convened a review meeting on Saturday to discuss ongoing developments in Yamuna City, Greater Noida. The meeting covered various projects, including the Jewar Airport, Medical Device Park, and Film City, with the minister stressing the importance of timely completion of all initiatives.


Job Creation Targeted at 1.5 Lakh

The CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Rakesh Kumar Singh, reported that 280 projects worth ₹45,148.41 crores have been allocated under the groundbreaking ceremony, surpassing the initial target of ₹43,750 crores. This development is expected to create approximately 132,000 jobs. The land for these projects will be made available shortly, ensuring that allottees do not face delays, as emphasized by the CEO.


State-of-the-Art Hospital Near Jewar Airport

Minister Nandi has directed that priority be given to allocating plots near Jewar Airport to prominent national and international firms. Additionally, he has approved the establishment of a modern hospital in the airport vicinity, which will offer advanced medical facilities for patients.


Film City Development Timeline

The minister was updated on the progress of the International Film City being constructed in Sector 21 by M/s Vevey Bhutani Private Limited. The company has received land possession, and the first phase of construction is expected to be completed within 1,095 days, covering an area of 230 acres.


Medical Device Park Progress

In addition, 89 plots have been allocated in the Medical Device Park in Sector 28, with construction already underway on six units. Several companies, including M/s Havells Limited, have received Letters of Intent (LOI) under the EMC 2.0 scheme in Sector 10. Notably, India’s first semiconductor unit in North India, a joint venture between M/s Foxconn and HCL, has received approval from the Central Government. Another project from the Hiranandani Group is awaiting approval.


Fintech City and Data Center Developments

The minister was briefed on the development of a data center park and a new IT-ITES park in Sector 28. The Fintech City project, which will span 350 acres and be developed through a public-private partnership, is also making progress. So far, 140 plots have been allocated in the Toy Park being developed in Sector 33, alongside other projects focused on MSME, handicrafts, furniture, and apparel.


Heritage City and Urban Centre Plans

A Heritage City in Mathura is set to be developed under the Raya Urban Centre through a public-private partnership. Additionally, a master plan is being formulated for an Urban Centre covering 12,000 hectares in Agra, which will be referred to as New Agra. Minister Nandi also reviewed initiatives related to the Smart Village Scheme, pond beautification, cow shelter operations, and school rejuvenation.
