Yamuna City Film City Project Receives Approval for Construction

Approval Granted for Film City Layout

In Greater Noida, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has approved the master layout plan for the International Film City being developed in Yamuna City. Film producer Boney Kapoor visited the Yamuna Authority on Monday to discuss the project. With this approval, construction is set to accelerate. The film city will cover an area of 230 acres, with 80 acres designated for construction and the remaining space reserved for filming activities. The foundation stone for the film city is anticipated to be laid on June 27.

Location and Features of the Film City

Situated in Sector 21 of Yamuna City, the film city will feature a 26-acre green belt and 54 acres dedicated to film studios and related facilities, including a university for shooting. This development is expected to significantly boost growth in Greater Noida and the surrounding Yamuna City area, enabling individuals to realize their aspirations. Additionally, the region is also home to Asia's largest Noida International Airport, currently under construction.

Previous Map Rejection and Current Approval

The film city's layout was previously rejected. Initially, Boney Kapoor and the Bhutani Group submitted a master plan to the Yamuna Authority, which was returned due to issues such as an unclear green belt. However, all identified issues have now been addressed, leading to the successful approval of the revised map.

A Vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

This film city is a key initiative for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has referenced it in over 100 meetings. He believes that Uttar Pradesh can rival Mumbai in the film industry. The land for the film city was acquired in February, and with the map's approval, construction is set to progress rapidly. It is projected that film production could commence within the next one to two years.

Innovative Shooting Arrangements

The film city will feature special provisions for helicopter filming, including the construction of a runway to facilitate aerial shoots. The design will incorporate various significant locations, such as a Parliament replica, a sea area, and sound stages, to enhance the filming experience.

Future Phases of Development

Following the approval of the initial 80-acre map, plans for a second phase are underway. This phase will involve the approval of an additional 150 acres. The construction company will address the concerns raised by the authority and submit the updated master layout plan for the second phase after the foundation stone is laid.

Conditions for Map Approval

Dr. Arun Vir Singh, CEO of the Yamuna Authority, confirmed that the map was approved under specific conditions. The development of the green belt will be prioritized before other activities commence. The first phase, covering 80 acres, has been officially sanctioned.
