Special Workshop for Legislators Held in New Delhi
New Delhi. A special workshop for Members of Parliament and State Legislators was organized today by the Nation First Policy Research and Change Foundation (NFPRC) at the Gulmohar Hall of the India Habitat Centre. Approximately 80 representatives from the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and various state assemblies participated in the event. The program featured in-depth discussions on critical topics such as health, education, digital communication, good governance, and the vision for a developed India by 2047.
Objective of the Workshop
The workshop aimed to provide a platform for legislators to engage with policy experts, facilitating discussions on improving governance, effective implementation, institutional coordination, and results-oriented methodologies at the regional level.
Keynote Address by NFPRC President
In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Tarun Chugh, President of the NFPRC Foundation, emphasized that transformative initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, the New Education Policy 2020, and digital communication are laying a strong foundation for a developed India. He stated that achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047 requires strengthening citizen-centric governance, effective implementation, and technology-driven communication systems.
Ayushman Bharat: A New Foundation for Health
Lok Sabha MP Dr. C.N. Manjunath addressed the topic “Ayushman Bharat: A New Foundation for India’s Health System,” highlighting that initiatives like PM-JAY and Health and Wellness Centers have significantly strengthened the country's healthcare system. He noted that ensuring access to quality health services in rural areas is a crucial step towards a developed India.
Discussion on Digital Health and Modernization
The session also covered topics such as digital health systems, claims processes, availability of health services in rural areas, and the modernization of health infrastructure.
Focus on New Education Policy and Digital Learning
Mr. Saurabh Chopra, Senior Director of the Central Square Foundation, described the New Education Policy 2020 as the foundation of India’s educational revolution. He emphasized that mother tongue-based education, skill development, digital learning, and modern educational models are preparing the youth for the future.
Digital Communication as a Key Tool
Lok Sabha MP Dr. Sambit Patra presented on strategic digital communication, stating that social media and digital platforms have become the most effective means of communication between representatives and the public. He elaborated on media engagement, social media management, rapid information dissemination, and effective communication strategies during crises, asserting that transparent and active dialogue strengthens public trust.
Video Message on COVID Management
During the event, a video message from Mr. Ashish Chandorkar, Counselor at India’s Permanent Mission in Geneva and author of “How India Braved the Covid-19 Pandemic,” was showcased. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India successfully faced the COVID-19 pandemic through strong leadership, technology-based management, and public participation, highlighting the achievements of the CoWIN platform and India’s vaccination campaigns.
Emphasis on Research-Based Dialogue
At the conclusion of the program, Mr. Abhinav Prakash, a board member of NFPRC, expressed gratitude to all speakers and legislators. He mentioned that NFPRC will continue to organize such programs focused on research-based dialogue, policy discussions, and capacity building for representatives in the future.
