Workers Express Anger Over Inflation in Noida

In Noida, the frustration of workers regarding escalating inflation has become increasingly visible on the streets. The continuous rise in gas cylinder prices, along with increasing rent and daily expenses, has posed significant challenges for laborers. Managing a household on a limited salary is becoming more difficult each day.

Protesters have shared that their monthly earnings range from 10,000 to 12,000 rupees, while their expenses have surged beyond this amount. One worker expressed their plight, stating, “Just the cost of the gas cylinder and rent consumes 7,000 to 8,000 rupees; how are we supposed to cover the rest?” They argue that sustaining a family on such a low income during this inflationary period is nearly impossible.

Additionally, workers have accused employers of demanding 10 to 12 hours of work without providing overtime pay or salary increases. They claim that while companies are profiting, the conditions for employees remain stagnant.

During the protests, workers urged the government and authorities to raise the minimum wage and take effective measures to control inflation. They also called for fair compensation for overtime and improved working conditions.

Experts warn that if inflation continues to rise without corresponding improvements in wages, such protests may become more frequent in the future. The working class is already under significant economic pressure, and meeting daily needs has become a daunting task.

Currently, this movement among workers signals a growing gap between rising inflation and stagnant incomes. If this issue is not addressed promptly, the situation could escalate further.
