Will Rain Disrupt the IPL 2025 Final? Ahmedabad's Weather Update

Ahmedabad's Weather Concerns Ahead of IPL 2025 Final
As the highly anticipated IPL 2025 final approaches at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad experienced light rain just hours before the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was set to begin.
Both teams are eager to claim their first IPL championship, but the weather has cast a shadow over the event, with rain causing some concern. Fortunately, the rainfall was light and lasted approximately 30 minutes.
Fans of RCB have gathered outside the stadium, excited to witness this thrilling showdown between the tournament's top two teams.
Weather forecasts provide some hope for fans, indicating a low chance of rain during the match.
AccuWeather reports that temperatures in Ahmedabad will start around 36°C at the game's kickoff, cooling down to about 31°C by the conclusion. Humidity levels are expected to fluctuate between 52% and 63% throughout the match. The sky will likely remain mostly cloudy, with only a 2% to 5% chance of rain affecting the game.
Should the match be rained out on Tuesday, the IPL 2025 final is scheduled to take place on the reserve day, Wednesday. In the unlikely event of a complete washout on both days, Punjab Kings would be declared champions based on their position at the top of the points table.
Ahmedabad previously hosted the IPL final in 2023, which faced significant rain disruptions. Initially scheduled for May 28, the match was postponed without any play. Thankfully, the Board of Control for Cricket in India arranged a reserve day for the final, but rain continued to impact the game, resulting in a shortened second innings of just 15 overs. Chennai Super Kings ultimately triumphed over Gujarat Titans, securing their fifth IPL title thanks to a dramatic last-ball performance by Ravindra Jadeja.
