Will Delhi Police Detain CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Ahead of Tiranga March?
CJP Founder Raises Concerns Over Police Surveillance
New Delhi: Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has expressed concerns that the Delhi Police might detain him prior to the party's planned 'Lehra Do Tiranga' march at Central Park in Connaught Place on Friday. He claims that authorities are monitoring him closely at his residence.
During a press conference held late Thursday, Dipke stated he is prepared to face arrest for the act of waving the national flag.
He declared, "Tomorrow, we will peacefully gather at Central Park to wave the Tiranga. If this is deemed a crime, then those who think so are the true traitors of the nation."
Dipke further asserted, "If it means going to jail for displaying the tricolour, we are fully prepared for that."
His comments followed the announcement from the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) that Central Park would be closed to the public on Friday and Saturday for 'administrative reasons.' Meanwhile, the Delhi Police indicated they might allow a limited group to wave the national flag and sing the national anthem at an alternative location.
Dipke challenged the authorities, saying, "If we declare that we will wave the Tiranga at 100 different locations, will you shut them all down? If you attend a rally by Narendra Modi and wave the Tiranga, will the police cancel that event? This is absurd!"
The CJP has urged its supporters and the public to assemble at Central Park on Friday to wave the national flag in protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing alleged electoral misconduct.
Dipke stated, "Officially declare that you will not allow the Tiranga to be waved. Then you are a traitor. No prime minister or government has ever done this before."
He also claimed that citizens are being imprisoned for displaying the tricolour, referencing the arrests of his colleagues Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were taken into custody after waving the national flag at Jantar Mantar on October 13.
Dipke questioned, "Why does the Prime Minister of India have such disdain for the Tiranga? Does he deserve to remain in office if he harbors such feelings?"
He alleged that vehicles without license plates have been tailing him and that personnel from the Intelligence Bureau have been gathering information from his building's watchman.
Dipke remarked, "The Delhi Police might detain me tonight or tomorrow morning, but I want to convey to Narendra Modi that we will not be intimidated."
He emphasized, "We are simply requesting the removal of Gyanesh Kumar and the appointment of a new, impartial election commissioner. We are not advocating for a regime change; we just want Gyanesh Kumar, who is not even heeding his fellow commissioners, to be replaced. Is this a crime?"
He concluded by stating, "This is akin to an Emergency situation. Narendra Modi is reluctant to declare it because he fears it would tarnish his image."
