A shocking case from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, has emerged, raising serious concerns about relationships and trust. Police have apprehended Sain Begum, also known as Saina, who had been on the run for nearly 11 months in connection with her husband's murder. Authorities allege that she conspired with her lover, Sarim, also known as Katta, to kill her husband, Riyaz. Surprisingly, after the incident, Saina distanced herself from Sarim and later remarried a young man from Muzaffarnagar.
Details of the Case
The incident took place in the new settlement of Mohalla Ketipura in the Baghpat Kotwali area. Riyaz, a resident of Bhatiyana village in Hapur district, lived there with his family. During this time, his wife Saina developed a close relationship with Sarim, who lived nearby, leading to a romantic affair.
Eventually, Riyaz discovered the affair and opposed it, resulting in conflicts at home. According to police, this ongoing dispute prompted Saina and Sarim to plot Riyaz's murder.
Murder Occurred on November 25, 2025
On the evening of November 25, 2025, Riyaz saw Sarim in his home, leading to a confrontation. It is alleged that during this altercation, Sarim attacked Riyaz, with Saina assisting him. Tragically, Riyaz lost his life in this incident.
Following the murder, chaos ensued in the family. Riyaz's brother, Israr, filed a complaint against Saina and Sarim at the Baghpat Kotwali. Based on this complaint, police initiated an investigation and began searching for the two suspects.
Distance from Lover After the Murder
An unexpected twist occurred when the investigation revealed that both Saina and Sarim fled after the murder. The police were actively searching for them and even announced a reward for their capture. Eventually, Sarim surrendered to the court, while Saina remained elusive.
During this time, Saina distanced herself from Sarim and married another man from a village in the Budhana area of Muzaffarnagar, thus ending the relationship that had led to her husband's murder.
Arrest Made with a Reward of ₹25,000
The police had been searching for Saina for about 11 months, offering a reward of ₹25,000 for information leading to her arrest. They received a tip-off about her whereabouts and successfully apprehended her near a hotel.
After her arrest, Saina was presented in court, where she was remanded to judicial custody. According to Baghpat's CO, Dr. Sukanya Sharma, Saina is accused of conspiring with her lover to murder her husband.
Family of the Deceased Claims Pressure
Despite Saina's arrest, Riyaz's family continues to face difficulties. Israr has alleged that some members of Saina's family are pressuring them to settle the case and reach a verdict. They have also reported receiving threats.
Israr has urged the police to take action against those issuing threats and to provide protection for his family. Currently, Saina is in custody, while Sarim has already surrendered to the court. The ongoing police investigation and court proceedings will determine the future of this case.
