In a shocking incident in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, a woman has been apprehended for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by slitting his throat during a domestic dispute. Authorities reported this development on Sunday.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Manihara neighborhood, where Sumaiya attacked her husband Khurshid while he was asleep on Saturday night.

Virendra Kasana, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the local police station, informed reporters that Khurshid was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he is currently receiving treatment. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and taken Sumaiya into custody.

The officer also mentioned that a sharp weapon used in the crime has been recovered from the suspect. Reports indicate that Sumaiya and Khurshid had been married for eight years, but their relationship had soured over time.

The police further revealed that Sumaiya attempted to take Khurshid's life by attacking him with the weapon while he was asleep. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
