Details of the Incident

In a shocking incident during a honeymoon trip in Meghalaya, a tourist from Indore, Raja Raghuvanshi, was allegedly murdered with the involvement of his wife, who reportedly hired hitmen. This information was disclosed by Meghalaya's Director General of Police (DGP), I Nongrang, on Monday.


The DGP revealed that Raja's wife, Sonam, surrendered to the police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, while three other assailants were apprehended following an overnight operation.


According to the DGP, 'One suspect was captured in Uttar Pradesh, and two others were arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Indore.' Nongrang further stated, 'Sonam surrendered at the Nandganj police station in Uttar Pradesh and was subsequently taken into custody.'


The arrested individuals have reportedly confessed that Sonam had hired them to carry out the murder of Raghuvanshi. The DGP added, 'Efforts are still underway in Madhya Pradesh to apprehend additional individuals involved in the crime.'


Meghalaya's Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma, commended the police for their swift action in resolving this case that has shaken the state and the nation. He posted on social media, 'Within seven days of the Raja murder case, Meghalaya police have achieved significant success... three murderers from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, the woman has surrendered, and efforts to capture another assailant are ongoing.'
