CRPF Takes Action Against Jawan for Concealing Marriage

New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has terminated the service of jawan Munir Ahmed for failing to disclose his marriage to a Pakistani woman, a decision made due to concerns over national security, as reported by official sources on Saturday.

Ahmed was serving with the 41st battalion of the CRPF, which is the primary internal security force in India.

He was dismissed without an inquiry, as per the applicable regulations, according to sources.

The CRPF spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) M Dhinakaran, stated, "Munir Ahmed has been dismissed immediately for hiding his marriage to a Pakistani national and for knowingly allowing her to stay in India beyond her visa's expiration."

His actions were deemed a breach of service conduct and a threat to national security.

The marriage to Menal Khan was uncovered after India ordered Pakistani nationals to exit the country following the Pahalgam terrorist attack that resulted in 26 fatalities.

The couple had tied the knot via video call on May 24 of the previous year.

An internal investigation revealed that Ahmed had not informed the relevant authorities about his marriage or his wife's overstayed visa.
