Kerala's Next Chief Minister Announcement Imminent

Thiruvananthapuram/Wayanad: The announcement regarding Kerala's next Chief Minister is expected later today, with reports suggesting that the Congress leadership may reveal the name before noon.

The prolonged decision-making process has left the supporters of three leading candidates—AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan, and veteran politician Ramesh Chennithala—anxiously awaiting the outcome.

As discussions continued among Congress leaders about the new Chief Minister, Rahul Gandhi met with former presidents of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in Delhi on Tuesday to gather insights and expedite the resolution of this ongoing uncertainty.

Sources indicate that the Kerala leaders summoned to Delhi shared their opinions on the potential candidates, with Venugopal, Satheesan, and Chennithala being the focal points of the discussions as the high command deliberated.

K Muraleedharan, a former KPCC chief, mentioned after his meeting with Gandhi that an announcement regarding the Chief Minister's identity is anticipated by Wednesday.

Another former state Congress president, V M Sudheeran, stated he had an in-depth conversation with Rahul about the political climate in Kerala and the public sentiment, expressing hope that the leadership would consider the people's feelings in their decision.

In the meantime, posters criticizing Rahul and Priyanka have surfaced in Wayanad, reflecting the rising tensions within the party.

These English-language posters, placed near the Wayanad DCC office, warned that the people of Kerala would not forgive the high command if Venugopal is selected for the Chief Minister position.
